Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist

Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist needed for a 13-week contract in Athens, GA. Provides advanced airway and ventilator care in a trach-heavy unit, with competitive pay up to $1,900 per week based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• Manage and maintain mechanical ventilators, including setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and ventilator dependence
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen, aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to adjust care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code situations as part of the respiratory care team
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and disease management
• Ensure accurate documentation per hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with infection control standards

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Georgia Respiratory Care License or eligibility to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 12 years of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in acute care or ventilator management settings

Preferred Skills:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong experience with tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation
