CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Position

We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machinist to join our cold forming tool manufacturing team at SFS in Medina, Ohio. This position offers a flexible day shift schedule while supporting a stable and growing manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality precision components. Experience with CNC milling operations is a plus and provides opportunities for cross-training and growth.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mori Seiki CNC turning centers to manufacture precision components.
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and routine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary corrections to maintain quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain production and quality records.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with CNC milling operations as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of CNC turning setup and operating experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred

• Experience with Mori Seiki CNC lathes and Fanuc controls.
• Experience with CNC milling operations, including 5-axis machining, is a plus.
• Knowledge of G-code programming and editing.
• Experience in a manufacturing or tool-making environment.
