Maintenance Mechanic

Location This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Southeast Region, Office of the Superintendent, Maintenance Division, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Job Summary Full‑time temporary appointment not to exceed one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year, for a maximum of two years based on agency needs and funding. Primary Responsibilities Perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Minimum Qualifications Experience that demonstrates the ability to perform most of the work as a Maintenance Mechanic at the journeyman level. At this level, the candidate has performed the work without more than normal supervision and has experience in at least two of the following trades: Carpentry, Electric, Plumbing, Painting, Masonry, HVAC, or Roofing. Driver's License Must possess a valid Driver's License. Volunteer Experience Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. Volunteer work is credited for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP Statement Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
