Job Description

The Yard Technician is an entry-level, multi-functional role focused on supporting operations in a mobile trailer yard and shop environment. You move and stage materials, assist with loading and unloading trucks, help build and install furniture, and handle equipment throughout the yard. This position offers a clear path for growth into a Set Up Technician role while working both indoors and outdoors in a construction-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and equipment around the storage yard and within the shop in a safe and efficient manner.

• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials and equipment are handled carefully and organized correctly.

• Stage materials for upcoming jobs and projects so crews have what they need when they need it.

• Build and install furniture and related components inside mobile trailers as directed.

• Use hand and power tools to perform basic carpentry and general labor tasks.

• Assist with general yard organization, including keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards.

• Operate equipment and vehicles in the yard, following all safety and driving guidelines.

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.

• Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform basic adjustments or minor repairs to equipment as needed.

• Use basic computer skills to complete simple tasks such as checking work orders, documenting activities, or accessing instructions.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete daily assignments and support overall yard operations.

• Demonstrate a proactive, “do it all” attitude by stepping into different tasks as needed and learning new responsibilities.

• Prepare for future growth into a Set Up Technician role by learning processes and best practices within mobile trailer operations.

Essential Skills

• General labor experience with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work on your feet throughout the day.

• Construction background with familiarity with construction trades and job site practices.

• Carpentry skills, including basic measuring, cutting, assembly, and installation work.

• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with tools, equipment, and simple mechanical systems.

• A current valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Basic computer knowledge to handle simple digital tasks and documentation.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to working in the elements.

• Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

• Reliable work ethic and a flexible, “do it all” attitude toward taking on a variety of tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HVAC technician skills are a plus and may support more specialized tasks.

• Prior experience working in a yard, warehouse, or similar operational environment is beneficial.

• Experience building or installing furniture or fixtures is helpful.

• Comfort working with mobile trailers or modular structures is an advantage.

• Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and follow written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment

The role is based at a branch facility in Dacula and centers on work in a storage yard and shop setting. You work primarily Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional Saturdays during peak seasons. The position involves frequent outdoor work in the elements, moving materials and equipment around the yard and into mobile trailers. You regularly use hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment, and you may operate vehicles in the yard. The environment is active and hands-on, with a focus on safety, organization, and teamwork, and requires practical work attire suitable for construction and outdoor conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statham, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
