Job Description
Telemetry / Step-Down RN

Schedule

Shift patterns: Confirm in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12). Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday). Orientation: 24 hours.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: Yes.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Telemetry / step-down experience required.
• Travel experience required.
• Patient ratio experience: 1:4-5.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Relias EKG test (pre-start) required.
• Pending license accepted (per state rules).
• Key clinical skills: Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation, post-cardiac cath/surgery care, chest pain/ACS management, cardiac drips management, IV starts, central/PICC/port care, blood product administration, non-invasive airway support, renal failure and hemodialysis patient management.
• Charting system: EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a telemetry/step-down unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data.
• Manage care of patients recovering from cardiac procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatments.

Compliance / Notes

Compliance deadline for documentation: 3pm CST on the Monday before the initial start date. No RTO allowed in the first week of assignment; a maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; finalize RTO at the time of submission.
