Position Details Specialty: PCU – Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/29/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days (06:45 – 19:15) Employment Type: Travel Schedule & Compensation Day 3x12‑Hour shift (06:45 – 19:15) Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Weekly pay, Holiday Pay, Guaranteed Hours Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Responsibilities and Patient Care Registered Nurse – PCU Ratios: 1:5 (may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions, requiring additional patient coverage) 1–2 years of telemetry experience required 24‑bed intermediate unit handling medical and surgical overflow (TURPs, laparoscopy, eye and oral surgery, diabetic teaching, wound care) Fast‑paced unit supporting throughput from ED and OR 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6‑week schedule (F/S/S rotation) Telecommunications: BLS, NIHSS; Cardiac telemetry, ER holding, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings Core clinical skills: Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response team coordination, endocrine/metabolic (IV insulin protocols), gastrointestinal (feeding tube care), genitourinary/renal (continuous bladder irrigation), IV therapy/port access, blood product administration, central line and peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting IVs Medication management: Heparin protocols, PCA Neurological/psychiatric: CVA care Respiratory: Nasal cannula oxygen, face masks, portable oxygen tank Professional skills: Isolation precautions, wound care, wound VAC, CBI management, tracheostomy management, eye surgery cleanup On‑call requirement: No Regular floating between departments or units may be required to meet facility needs Qualifications 1–2 years of telemetry experience Primary Nursing Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) a plus Current RN license in Missouri Certifications: BLS, NIHSS; additional certifications in telemetry or critical care preferred Demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response team participation Experience with endocrine/metabolic insulin protocols, central/peripheral line management, and advanced wound care Ability to work in a fast‑paced, 24‑bed intermediate unit environment Benefits Weekly pay Holiday pay Guaranteed hours Continuing education support 401(k) retirement plan Pet insurance Referral bonus Medical, dental, and vision benefits License and certification reimbursement Life insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Malone Healthcare Solutions
