Welder

Welder - 1st Shift - $23/hr

This role involves performing high-quality MIG welding and fabrication on a variety of steel components that are later assembled into complex filtration machinery. You will work from blueprints and weld symbols, use precision measuring tools, and operate material-handling equipment to produce accurate, structurally sound welds that meet strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on frames, beams, conveyor tracks, and various machine parts using mild steel and stainless steel ranging from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch thick, including sheet metal from 14 gauge up to 1/2 inch.

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine weld locations, dimensions, and specifications.

• Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure, and cut parts to size using saws and other cutting tools.

• Carry out fabrication work, including fitting, tacking, and assembling components prior to final welding.

• Conduct leak testing and visual inspection of welds and weld beads to verify quality and adherence to specifications.

• Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect and verify dimensional accuracy.

• Operate an overhead crane and forklift to move materials, components, and finished assemblies safely and efficiently.

• Clean and prepare steel surfaces prior to welding using wire brushes, sandpaper, and angle grinders.

• Perform welding primarily in the horizontal position while maintaining consistent weld quality and appearance.

• Lift and handle materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the shift.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bowling Green, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
