We build ships, defense systems, aerospace components, and heavy steel structures that serve critical missions — and we do it with pride.Your mission:Develop and implement quality systems/processes related to new programs and projects, design and implement operational metrics to support day-to-day product quality systems, resolving quality issues, development of measurement systems to meet customer requirements, and facilitating continuous improvement activities.Role duties/responsibilities:Follow up of corrective action reports, including customer complaints.Calibration system maintenance.Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan creation.Inspection and Test.Review and submittal of objective quality evidence per customer requirements.Facilitate Continual Improvement efforts (e.g., six sigma as a green or black belt).Reports to Quality Manager and/or Quality Director regarding activities listed above.Responsible for ensuring ongoing product quality and reporting concerns as they arise. Accountable for the timely completion of tasks.All other related duties as assigned.Education and experience/skills/abilities:High School Diploma or equivalent.4-year degree in related quality field desirable.Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Quality Assurance functions, with adequate experience solving problems, process improvement, and using inspection and test equipment.ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Technician, or Engineer. 6 Sigma Green Belt or above is desired.Problem solving, lean 6 Sigma training, Project Management, inspection & test, metrology, and calibration, drawing reading & interpretation (GD&T), statistical methods.Good planning, organizational, and communications skills required.Above average computer skills.Organizational & motivational abilities.Works well with others.Able to multi-task and establish priorities.Travel requirements:Occasional travel between facilities as needed.Physical requirements:May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.May lift or carry 50lbs.
