What We’re Doing Within the Autonomy Intelligence Maritime Solutions Integrated Engineering (AIMS IE) organization, the Controls & Automation Products department provides essential control system capabilities that enable shipboard operations across a variety of platforms and customers. The Work The Hardware Engineer will be supporting all of the Machinery Controls and Automation programs within RMS. This position will be responsible for coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of the customer including system troubleshooting both in the Controls lab and on ship, artifact development, hardware design, and more. Occasional travel to shipyard(s) may be required. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline. Minimum of 2 years of experience in hardware engineering. Experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and engineering documentation. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance. Desired Skills Experience with PLCs (i.e., Ladder Logic in general, Rockwell, Wago, Siemens). Knowledge of protocols and related devices (i.e., PFB, Serial, MBS, Ethernet, RTD). Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Knowledge of Navy systems, DoD acquisition, or maritime platforms. Experience developing test reports (i.e., Shock, Vibe, EMI, Airborne Noise). Ability to Work Remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
