About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license required at time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Experience with IV insulin protocols - Dysrhythmia skills required - Central line management experience - Peripheral line management experience - Experience managing cardiac drips - Feeding tube management experience Description: Travelers will be required to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays. Floating between units is required. Availability for every other weekend is required, with the possibility of additional weekends as needed to support unit operations. Level 1 trauma experience is preferred. Experience in progressive care unit is required. Candidates should have experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing various patient care scenarios. The unit cares for acute progressive level patients with a focus on a variety of diagnoses, primarily related to pulmonary health. Interdisciplinary support from various services is available, including physical therapy, respiratory care, and pharmacy. Compliance requirements include BLS, ACLS, EKG onboarding exam, NIHSS, math exam, and pharmacology exam. Candidates will float within the facility or to nearby locations as needed. Previous charge experience is preferred but not mandatory.
