Forklift Driver

JOB SUMARY

Operates forklift to move, load, and unload material and pallets throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Comply with Westlake Safety Policies

* Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility

* Operate forklift within the safety guidelines.

* Unload incoming material and pallets by placing it in the proper area.

* Regulate shipping documents accordingly.

* Verify counts and maintain load sheets.

* Understand quality standards, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Ability to use simple math and read tape measure accurately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

* Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

* Prior forklift experience preferred.

* Forklift certification

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

* Prolong sitting.

* Complete repetitive movements such as typing.

* Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable.

* Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, and hardhat protection) when in plant.

* Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.

* Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.

* Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders.

* Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental condition.
