Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and continually improving the organization’s quality management systems to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and company quality standards. This role provides strategic and operational oversight of quality processes, mentors the quality team, and collaborates with cross‑functional departments to embed a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
This position is designed for an experienced quality leader with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. The Quality Manager plays a critical role in driving process improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting operational excellence, reinforcing Universal Fabricating’s commitment to innovation, reliability, and excellence in manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality management systems in accordance with industry standard and regulatory requirements.
- Establish quality objectives, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor effectiveness of quality processes.
- Lead and coordinate quality audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations.
- Analyse quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality requirements into product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on quality-related issues, including training programs and initiatives to enhance quality awareness and competencies.
- Conduct root cause analysis and risk assessments to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Manage and maintain documentation related to quality processes, procedures, and certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize quality outcomes.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning to promote quality driven mindsets across the organization.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality management, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO Standards).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations
