Financial Analyst

Apogee Architectural Metals Position Summary The Financial Analyst serves as a business partner to manufacturing operations by providing financial analysis and insights that support operational decision-making, cost optimization, and continuous improvement. The role is focused on manufacturing cost analysis, standard costing, and performance reporting, while supporting month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with manufacturing data to influence operational decisions and improve business performance. Responsibilities Partner with manufacturing operations and plant leadership to analyze financial and operational performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Support the development and maintenance of standard costs, including annual cost rolls, BOM and routing reviews, and manufacturing overhead rate calculations. Analyze manufacturing variances, yields, productivity, and other operational metrics to identify root causes and provide actionable recommendations. Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the integrity of manufacturing cost data. Assist with plant budgeting and forecasting by updating cost assumptions, analyzing financial performance, and preparing actual versus budget/forecast variance reporting. Support business initiatives by providing financial analysis for capital investments, Lean projects, process improvements, and other operational decision-making. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, operations finance, or a related analytical role. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to investigate data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights. Strong interest in manufacturing operations and the ability to partner with Operations to understand processes, identify improvement opportunities, and solve business problems. Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing data, including bills of materials (BOMs), routings, inventory, and production information, preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with Operations and cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work on-site at least three days per week.
