At Manheim, part of Cox Automotive, we're hiring an Automotive Technician II at our Manheim Nevada location. Automotive Technician - Level 2 What You'll Do:
- Perform preventive maintenance services (PMs), including oil changes, filter replacement, fluid checks, and inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gas and diesel vehicles.
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC systems.
- Replace parts and components according to manufacturer specifications and shop standards.
- Perform light fabrication, welding, or modifications when needed.
- Use scan tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment to identify vehicle faults.
- Accurately troubleshoot drivability issues, electrical problems, and intermittent concerns.
- Determine root causes of failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Escalate highly complex or unusual issues to senior technicians while assisting in diagnosis.
- 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
- The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current ASE Certification: G1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 when required by leadership.
- Working independently or in a team environment.
- Performing advanced diagnostics.
- Clutch and transmission replacement.
- Identifying required parts and partner with our parts & procurement teams to acquire necessary parts, supplies and materials.
- Alerting team lead and/or management about difficult issues, patterns and trends.
- May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- May be required to perform OEM recalls.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
- 5+ years of automotive service and repair experience.
- The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
- A high school diploma or GED
- Current ASE Certifications: A1-9, (L1 in emission states) when required by leadership.
