Requisition ID: 182490 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: DHO Kiewit Supply Network Department: Supply Chain Management Market: Corporate Home Office Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview The Materials Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall materials program for assigned projects, ensuring materials are planned, procured, received, stored, issued, tracked, and delivered to support safe and efficient project execution. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all site materials management activities and acts as the conduit between construction, project management, procurement, logistics, suppliers, and field operations. The Materials Manager provides leadership to site materials teams, establishes and maintains materials management processes, drives inventory accuracy, and ensures material availability aligns with project schedules and construction priorities. This individual effectively collaborates across all levels of the organization, develops team members through coaching and accountability, and leads project mobilization and demobilization efforts for materials management operations. Location We are currently looking for people to support projects in the following locations: Barnard, Missouri Wichita, Kansas Houston, Texas Point Pleasant, West Virginia Must be willing to go where the work is, both now and in the future. Responsibilities Manage the overall project materials program from project startup through closeout. Serve as the primary point of contact for all site materials management activities and construction-related material concerns. Lead project mobilization and demobilization activities for materials management operations. Develop project materials management plans, procedures, staffing strategies, and warehouse operations plans. Coordinate closely with Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, Engineering, Logistics, and Project Management to ensure material requirements are understood and executed. Oversee material receiving, warehousing, inventory control, preservation, issuance, and surplus material management activities. Monitor material status and proactively identify risks that could impact project schedules or field productivity. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of material deliveries, inventory levels, shortages, and critical material requirements. Lead materials status meetings and communicate material readiness to project stakeholders. Manage warehouse operations and field material teams to ensure safe, organized, and efficient work execution. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and project teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and material availability. Resolve complex materials-related issues and provide recommendations to project leadership. Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and project requirements. Develop, mentor, and empower materials personnel through coaching, accountability, and leadership. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership, and operational excellence. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, logistics, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, or related disciplines. Experience managing materials programs on large industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, transportation, or EPC projects. Strong understanding of materials planning, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and field material management. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and effectively collaborate across multiple functional groups. Experience supporting project mobilization and demobilization activities. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze material data, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. Experience utilizing ERP systems, inventory management systems, and materials tracking tools. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across project teams.
