Job Description

The Procurement Specialist will lead in determining and managing the sourcing strategy within defined categories or sub-categories. This role involves engaging with stakeholders and overseeing the sourcing process, providing procurement advice to various business areas.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to define and implement the category strategy, plans, and processes for sourcing goods and services.
• Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business drivers and comprehend how they affect the business strategy.
• Act as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
• Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and budgeting with appropriate risk management.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key existing strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.
• Monitor compliance with the business's sourcing process, acting as an internal consultant for each stage in the process.
• Develop category or sub-category strategy, plans, and sourcing pipelines.

• Understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques and supply chain management.
• Experience in procurement or purchasing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in procurement, purchase order processing, and contracts.
• Proficiency in contract/procurement experience, office competency, and change order review & processing.
• Experience in data center procurement and contracting execution for long lead equipment.
• Experience in inventory management of stored equipment, including managing vendor care and custody.

Work Environment

Located in San Jose, CA, this role requires a daily schedule of 40 hours per week. Necessary equipment includes a monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse, Class 2 safety helmet, Class 2 or higher vest, cut and impact-resistant gloves, ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor, composite toe work boots, and a Class 2 or higher reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather.

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Jose,CA.
