Job Title: Collections Specialist

Location: Voorhees, NJ (Hybrid)

Pay: Up to $25 per hour

About Our Client: Addison Group is working with a growing manufacturing and packaging solutions company headquartered in Southern New Jersey to bring on a Collections Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent chance to join a collaborative accounting team and play a key role in the collections and cash applications process. Ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys working with both internal teams and external clients.

Job Description: The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process by following up on outstanding balances, leading collection efforts, and assisting with various AR functions. This role offers flexibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to take full ownership of collections efforts across a national customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor aging reports and identify past-due accounts
• Proactively reach out to customers via phone and email to resolve outstanding balances
• Collaborate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to resolve billing issues
• Lead and facilitate weekly collection status meetings with internal stakeholders
• Document all collection activities and maintain up-to-date records in the accounting system
• Issue reminders and follow-ups ahead of payment due dates
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and short payments
• Process and apply customer payments, including lockbox, ACH, and wire transfers
• Prepare and distribute accurate customer statements and invoices as needed
• Support third-party collection processes and legal escalation when appropriate
• Assist with year-end audit and ad-hoc reporting for management

Qualifications:

• 27 years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections, preferably in manufacturing or similar industries
• Strong Excel skills required (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
• High attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (flexible based on experience)
