The receptionist is professional and respectful when interacting with clients and patients. Duties and Responsibilities Preparation and maintenance of medical records, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, and front office and reception area. Answers clinic phones, returns messages, forwards messages to appropriate staff in a timely manner Schedule and confirm appointments via phone, electronically and in person. Liaises with rescue and transport partners about questions, accounts receivable, schedules, etc Use clinic software to update patient information, produce medical records, schedule appointments, etc. Ensure mail and deliveries are received and dispersed timely Clean lobby floor, chairs, counter tops after customers leave Restock lobby literature, forms and office supplies as needed Assist with surgery check ins, vaccine clinic and feral trap instructions and dispensing Communicate basic veterinary concepts to owners and be able to repeat information relayed by a veterinarian Perform other duties as assigned by management Requirements High School Diploma or GED Veterinary practice experience strongly preferred Be proficient with desktop computer, email system, Microsoft suite Ability to work well under pressure with excellent multi-tasking skills Must be able to learn basic veterinary medical concepts including but not limited to vaccine protocols and anesthetic risks Physical Requirements Climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting and grasping Walking and moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another Able to lift 25 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently and a negligible amount constantly Repetitive motion PAWS Chicago Values-in-Action Respect: for each and every life.
