Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Evaluations

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our organization in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Become a part of our team to perform thorough eye examinations for Veterans. This position is a fulfilling, non-treatment, and non-determination role focused exclusively on assessments.

• Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Carry out comprehensive eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Carefully document examination results and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. Disability decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) , not by the healthcare provider.

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week.
• Location: In-person role.
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

• A compassionate Optometrist or Ophthalmologist committed to assisting the Veteran community.
• Strong analytical abilities to review medical records and assessment data.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based systems.
• A professional and empathetic approach when engaging with Veterans.

• Possesses an active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license .
• Experienced in Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable using technology for record review and documentation.
