Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

This Pharmacy Technician role focuses on accurately filling prescriptions, preparing medications for pharmacist verification, and supporting daily pharmacy operations in a closed-door pharmacy setting. You will work primarily evening shifts on weekdays and every other weekend, contributing to safe, compliant, and efficient medication fulfillment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily drug orders accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Pick, label, scan, and otherwise prepare finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of medications according to established procedures.
• Prepack frequently ordered medications, label and store them as needed during low-volume periods.
• Package materials and products manually to support medication fulfillment workflows.
• Pull and pick medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other medication storage areas.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a clear and active Florida Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to work at a moderate, sustained pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings.
• Mail-order pharmacy experience.

Work Environment

This role is based in a closed-door pharmacy setting focused on prescription fulfillment rather than direct walk-in customer service. You will work evening shifts Monday through Friday, typically from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and you will work every other weekend from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Overtime, holidays, and extended hours may be required based on business needs. The environment involves standing or sitting for long periods, frequent walking, bending, and stooping, and handling medications and packaging materials. You will use scanning equipment, labeling tools, and standard pharmacy and office equipment. The role requires lifting up to 25 pounds on occasion. The workplace follows departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code, and emphasizes compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tampa,FL.
