North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital is growing and looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our amazing team. We’re a well-established three- to four-doctor practice that values the unique talents, personalities, and perspectives each person brings to the hospital. A veterinary technician license is welcome but not required. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic—whether in the kennel, at the front desk, or in a medical support role—is a plus, but we’re also willing to train someone who brings compassion, curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for animal care. Why You\'ll Love It Here Join a well-established three- to four-doctor veterinary hospital Work with a team that values different backgrounds, personalities, and perspectives Receive training and support if you’re newer to the veterinary field Use and expand your veterinary skills through hands-on experience Build meaningful relationships with clients and their pets Work in a culture where teamwork, empathy, and communication matter Take ownership of responsibilities while knowing your teammates are there to support you Learn from experienced veterinary professionals Share your knowledge and help others grow as your own skills develop Enjoy a workplace where laughter, milestones, puppy kisses, and kitty headbutts are appreciated Receive support through continuing education and professional development Build a rewarding veterinary career at a pace that supports your growth What You\'ll Do Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Obtain patient temperatures, vital signs, and other requested information Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples as directed Prepare vaccines, medications, and preventive products Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed and appropriate to your training Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques Perform diagnostic testing and treatments under veterinary supervision Anticipate the veterinarian’s needs during appointments and procedures Obtain and document accurate patient histories Record treatment plans, medical notes, and client communication Review treatment plans and estimates with clients Obtain client consent for recommended services Educate clients about medications, home care, preventive medicine, and general pet wellness Communicate veterinary recommendations clearly and compassionately Clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms between appointments Follow hospital sanitation, infection-control, and safety protocols Help prevent the spread of infectious and zoonotic diseases Assist with inventory, restocking, and daily hospital organization Maintain accurate and complete patient records Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to keep appointments running smoothly Support teammates and jump in wherever help is needed What You\'ll Bring A veterinary technician license is welcome but not required Previous veterinary hospital experience is preferred but not required Experience in a kennel, reception, or clinical support role is a plus A genuine passion for patient care and pet wellness A positive, team-oriented attitude A strong work ethic and growth mindset Compassion and empathy for patients, clients, coworkers, and yourself The confidence to take ownership of assigned tasks A willingness to ask for help and support teammates when they need it Strong communication and client education skills Careful attention to detail and accurate documentation habits The ability to multitask in a busy veterinary environment A willingness to learn new technical and client service skills The ability to safely handle animals of different sizes and temperaments Comfort remaining active and on your feet throughout the workday The ability to safely lift and carry animals and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently The ability to assist with heavier patients and equipment as part of a team A desire to share your knowledge and encourage the growth of others The ability to find joy and positivity even during busy moments The Extras You\'ll Actually Feel At North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital, we believe veterinary professionals are more than a list of technical skills.
