Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills and be willing to learn and adapt in a diverse environment, providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU setting.
• Monitor and assess patients with a range of conditions including sepsis, STEMI, COVID-19, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, and diabetes complications.
• Administer medication and titrate drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment such as eICU systems, neuro monitoring, and CRRT.
• Participate in bedside shift reports and intentional hourly rounding.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Experience in a critical care or ICU setting preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Must be able to pass a skills exam during orientation.

Work Environment

• 16-bed Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2, and occasional 1:1 assignments.
• Two shifts of unit-specific orientation provided.
• Standard shifts are 12 hours, with rotating weekend and holiday assignments as needed.
• Floating to other areas such as PCU based on abilities may be required.
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs.
