Our operation relies on dependable equipment and well-maintained facilities. As a Plant Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will safeguard both—serving as the primary troubleshooter for complex applications while advancing safety, quality, and throughput.

Impact you’ll make

• Plan and perform preventive maintenance; rapidly diagnose and repair issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and building systems.
• Collaborate with production to reach and sustain optimal machine capability.
• Lead root-cause investigations for equipment failures and drive sustainable fixes.
• Support capital projects and continuous improvement efforts.
• Reinforce 5S discipline and comply with GMP requirements.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment to achieve target performance.
• Establish or refine work procedures so schedules are consistently met.
• Expand and share your maintenance knowledge as technologies evolve.
• Carry out additional assignments as needed.

Your background

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Education/training or hands-on experience in a skilled trade (mechanical, electrical, fluid power, machining, welding, etc.).
• Proficient with hand/power tools and test equipment such as voltmeters and ammeters.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
• Effective communicator who can juggle multiple priorities.
• Working familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong internal customer service orientation.

Physical and scheduling requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Spend extended periods standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and climbing ladders (about 40% standing, 20% sitting, 20% climbing, 20% kneeling/squatting/lying in non-routine positions each shift).
• Work long shifts—up to 12 hours in a 24-hour period.
• Operate effectively in varying temperatures.
• Perform in dusty conditions with PPE as required.
• Maintain fine motor skills for extended hand tool use.
• Overtime as business needs dictate.

Core skills

• Language: Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports/correspondence ; speak effectively to groups of employees or customers.
• Mathematics: Read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; compute percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; apply high-school math concepts.
• Reasoning: Use sound judgment to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions; resolve problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized settings.

Technical foundation

• Translate equipment design/capabilities into efficient operation; act as a trainer for team members.
• Understand cost considerations to reduce total costs and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Apply relevant quality standards.
• Know regulatory requirements, including wage and hour, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements (including OSHA and EEO).

Certification

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certifications for certain areas or equipment.

Environment you’ll work in

• Regular contact with moving mechanical parts.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Occasional work at heights, around fumes or airborne particles, and in vibrating environments.
• Generally loud noise levels.
