Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a highly skilled Associate or Mid-Level Embedded Test and Evaluation Engineer (Level 2 or 3) with a background in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of embedded system test environments to join our exclusive team at the Starfire Optical Range on Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Work at the forefront of innovation! The selected candidate will support the hardware, firmware, and software development of electro-optical systems at the listed locations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to advancements in technology using cutting-edge equipment at a historically significant site. This position supports the Research and Development (R&D) mission of the Air Force Research Laboratory Optics Division in their advancement of Space Domain Awareness capabilities. The site houses telescope research facilities ranging in size from 0.5m up to 3.5m with advanced optical systems. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the development, optimization, and maintenance of embedded electro-mechanical pointing and tracking control systems. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)This position requires ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance or equivalent (Post Start)Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement2+ years of experience with testing embedded systems in a laboratory environment2+ years of experience programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLABMust be willing to work variable shifts; including days, evening, night and weekendsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Mid-Level (Level 3): 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceActive U.S Top Secret security clearanceExperience using various network communication protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and using various testing methodologies including black box testing, white box testing, integration testing, system testing, performance testing, etc.Experience in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reportsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving both hardware and softwareExperience using debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve defectsExperience in isolating and reproducing bugsHands-on experience with setting up and configuring test environments for embedded systemsExperience in performance analysis using tools such as MATLAB or MathematicaExperience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators to analyze and troubleshoot embedded systemsExperience with telescopes and electro-optical systems (EO systems, electro optics)Experience in OS driver developmentEffective in small team work environment with broad responsibilities and minimal oversightConflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
