Job Title: Civil Maintenance Branch Manager (Utility Crafworker Superintendent, Water Resources) Department: Department of Water Resources, Southern Field Division, Civil Maintenance Branch, Pearblossom Salary: $9,248.00 - $11,494.00 per month (New to State candidates receive minimum salary; alternate range if applicable) Location: In Office – Pearblossom, CA (Telework: In Office) Overview Under the direction of the Field Division Manager, the Civil Maintenance Branch Manager is responsible for budgeting, planning, directing, organizing and controlling the Civil Maintenance Branch and all civil maintenance activities for State Water Project facilities in the Southern Field Division. The role involves making decisions with far-reaching implications and performing administrative tasks in SAP, supporting Planner/Scheduler functions. Responsibilities Plan, organize, coordinate and direct maintenance, repair, replacement and improvements to civil and structural portions of State Water Project facilities within the field division. Conduct periodic inspections and determine required maintenance, repair, or replacement actions. Provide for the transportation, storage, procurement, assignment and maintenance of all field division mobile and vehicular equipment. Make recommendations to the Field Division Manager regarding economical, safe, and effective policies, procedures and techniques related to civil maintenance. Coordinate activities with other branches, DWR entities, government and civil entities, vendors, contractors, and the general public. Direct administrative activities: personnel management, procurement, budgeting, program control, correspondence, reports, policy, project planning, procedures, and preparation of operating manuals. Provide support to the Planner/Scheduler function and perform SAP administrative tasks such as time reports, program reports, requisitioning and work order notifications. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications are detailed in the Class Specification. The designation “Utility Crafworker Superintendent, Water Resources” indicates the required level. Desirable Qualifications Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to analyze situations and take effective action. Strong oral and written communication skills; high attention to detail and accuracy. Professional interaction with public and staff at all levels. Consistent attendance and good judgement. Knowledge of safety practices, preventative maintenance planning, and experience with civil facilities construction. Experience with budget and cost control. Excellent computer skills, SAP or similar program proficiency. Experience in supervisory/leadership roles. Special Requirements Valid California Class C Driver’s License (travel throughout the state is required).
