ROLE SUMMARYThe US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity is a key member of the US Medical Business Operations & Enablement Team. They combine organizational expertise with an understanding of US MA’s strategic priorities to ensure compliant and efficient execution of plans for US Obesity Medical Affairs organization. Broadly, their main objective is to:Provide robust strategic, operational, and budgetary support to the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization.To this end, the US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity will provide:Lead efforts on behalf of the US Obesity Medical Affairs Lead to establish / optimize / evolve the Medical team to ensure alignment, and monitor efficiency, effectiveness & compliance.Independently lead implementation of new ways of working and ensure dissemination of change management communications for the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization and Operational Excellence team when supporting the US Obesity Medical Category.Serves as key point of coordination and communication between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Operational Excellence Team and Medical Platforms.Provide strategic guidance to US Obesity Medical Affairs colleagues focused on the delivery of high priority projects and senior management requests.Represent the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization in cross functional forums including with commercial teams. Lead budget management and the Operating Plan development to ensure US Obesity MA resources are well balanced to meet strategic objectives both internally and externally.Lead / Co-lead strategic initiatives focused on equity, digital and critical Obesityientific initiatives.The US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity reports to the US Medical Business Operations & Enablement Team Lead. They directly support the US Obesity Medical Lead and their Leadership Team.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESThe US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity will provide operational support to the US Obesity Medical Lead and partner with the US Obesity Medical Affairs Leadership Team (LT) to ensure efficient functioning of the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization and drive its strategic directionGovernanceSupport effective governance processes/meetings, including US Obesity Medical Affairs LT and other medical governance committees.Responsible for end to end fit for purpose governance planning/execution.Provide thought partnership to the US Obesity Medical Lead on key issues and topics.Help address & coordinate resolution of requests from various stakeholders.Work and align with key internal stakeholders to ensure consistency.Support the US Obesity Medical coordination efforts with Other Category Operational Excellence (including Cross-Category Operational Medical Forum).Strategy DevelopmentLead efforts in partnership with the US Obesity Medical Leads for development of 3-5 year US Obesity Medical Affairs Vision, Strategy & Goals.Provide thought partnership on strategic & operational issues / topics.Lead and/or provide strategic direction for project teams on critical initiatives.Define project scope, set strategic goals/objectives & develop project execution plans with clearly defined milestones/metrics.Drive change & transformations, working collaboratively with US Obesity Medical Affairs colleagues, cross-functional Category & other stakeholders as well as senior leaders to deliver actionable solutions to resolve complex challenges.Effectively facilitate/influence complex & strategic conversations.The US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity will guide the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization to provide robust operational support for ensuring compliant & efficient functioning.Operational and Budgetary support for US Obesity Medical Affairs organizationLead annual Operating Plan for the US Obesity Category, working closely with Medical Affairs colleagues, Global MA, Platforms, Finance, Commercial, PHI, and other stakeholdersLead development of Operating Plan communication for US Obesity Medical Affairs LTLead and oversee all budgetary Obesity US operationsEnsuring timely contracting and meeting all financial spend targets related to medical activities and projectsLead resource forecasting and tracking to ensure spending is aligned with budget targetsLead efforts for development of US Obesity Medical Affairs specific transparent budget/resource planning and allocation algorithms/models, as well as manage resource planning, allocation & staffingLead planning/co-ordination of offshore resources, as neededThe US MA Business Operations Lead, Obesity will partner with the Obesity Medical Affairs LT to drive implementation of new ways of workingRepresent in cross functional forums including the US Obesity commercial team.Lead communication between, Global Medical Affairs, Platforms and US Obesity Medical Affairs Organization.Respond to inquiries from US Obesity Medical Affairs Organization on Global Medical Affairs, platform services, new ways of working and change management efforts.Enhancing digital adaptation of technologies: Foster innovation by embedding digital adaptation and building strategyBASICQUALIFICATIONS Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree (e.g., masters) highly preferred.
