Electrical Engineer - IT Equipment

Hybrid Engineering RoleThis hybrid Engineering role (3 days/week in Fremont, CA) is responsible for managing product certification and compliance projects from scope definition through completion. The position involves direct client interaction, technical evaluation of products, coordination with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with UL standards while delivering high-quality service and maintaining strong client relationships.ResponsibilitiesDefine project scope, develop investigation plans, and determine specifications (cost, timeline, and sample requirements) based on client input, product construction, and supporting dataTravel as needed to client sites to conduct or witness testingInitiate and maintain client communication to promote and explain UL servicesFollow up on client inquiries and maintain ongoing relationshipsCommunicate technical requirements, project scope, timelines, and costs to clientsAddress and resolve client concerns in a timely mannerProvide technical guidance related to product inspection and follow-up servicesTechnical & Project ExecutionEstablish appropriate test programs by reviewing documentation, product specifications, and UL requirementsEvaluate samples for compliance and notify clients of any non-conformities or scope changesMaintain knowledge of applicable standards, technical literature, and UL proceduresAnalyze test programs for adequacy and sequenceCoordination & Project ManagementCoordinate laboratory activities, including:Preparing data sheets and technical instructionsScheduling and reviewing work of technicians and engineering assistantsDefining project timelines and completion datesManage administrative aspects of project executionCommunicate project status and results through reports and client interactionPrepare Follow-Up Service Procedures and supporting documentationAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport continuous improvement initiativesResolve engineering issues related to Variation NoticesContribute to the development of UL requirements, test methods, and equipmentConduct or support file reviews as neededRepresent UL at industry events such as seminars and trade showsAdhere to UL Code of Conduct and all security practicesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering preferred)Experience with IT equipment preferredProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWhat We Offer:Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $78,500-104,600 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
