Description

The Reservations Specialist Agent is to answer telephone inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner, and employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations in a timely manner consistent with our high standards of quality. The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or through the exercise of sound, reasonable judgement and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities. Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.

Summary of essential duties:

• Handles individual phone reservations
• Greet prospective guests in a friendly manner using clear, verbal communication
• Inputs and retrieves dates using knowledge of the computer reservations system.
• Assigns reservations based on guest preferences and availability.
• Provides accurate and prompt information regarding availability
• Assists Reservation Manager on any project needed.
• Handles complaints in a tactful manner and negotiate resolutions
• Answer questions regarding hotel facilities and services, local attractions, directions, etc.
• Sends confirmation and hotel information packets upon guest requests.
• Even out room types as needed.
• Charge 72hour deposits in a timely manner.
• Accept and review third party reservations.
• Follow the reservations department checklist.
• Cross sell the Moody Gardens Attractions and the Moody Gardens Golf Course.

Qualifications

• Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma preferred
• Call center experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• High School diploma preferred
• Computer literate preferred
• Call center experience preferred
• Elegant phone voice preferred
• Multitasking skills preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a confined space
