Project Executive - Commercial Construction

Project Executive - Commercial Construction Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Executive to join a well-established and growing general contractor in the Chicago market. This individual will provide leadership and oversight across multiple projects while managing client relationships, developing project teams and ensuring successful project delivery from preconstruction through closeout. Candidates should have a strong general contracting background with experience in at least one of the following markets: healthcare, multifamily, cold storage/food & beverage, aviation or retail. Responsibilities Provide executive-level oversight of multiple projects or one $50M+ project and project teams Lead projects from preconstruction and planning through construction and closeout Oversee Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and supporting project staff Monitor project financials, schedules, contracts, risk and overall performance Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to a high standard of quality Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors and other project partners Participate in preconstruction, estimating, procurement and project strategy Identify potential project challenges early and work with teams to develop solutions Mentor and develop project management staff Assist with client development, relationship management and pursuit of future work Ensure project teams are following company processes and meeting client expectations Qualifications 10+ years of commercial construction experience, ideally with a General Contractor Prior experience as a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager or similar leadership role Experience in at least ONE of the following sectors is required: Cold Storage / Food & Beverage Aviation Retail Proven experience successfully managing large and/or complex construction projects Strong knowledge of project financials, contracts, scheduling, procurement and subcontractor management Experience leading and developing project teams Strong client-facing and relationship management skills Ability to oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously This is an opportunity to join an established general contractor with a strong project pipeline and take on a highly visible leadership role.
