Elko Sanitation is seeking a dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Schedule: Full Time | Monday Friday.

810 hours/day | 7:00am-7:00pm.

Overtime paid after 40 hours.

Salary: Starting at $29.00+ per hour (DOE).

Yearly Wage Increases - No Pay Cap.

$150 Monthly Tool Allowance.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Use computerized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine issues.
• Conduct safety inspections and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
• Document repairs, parts usage, and labor hours using fleet maintenance software.
• Communicate repair needs and work status with drivers, technicians, and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all company and OSHA safety standards.
• Perform additional maintenance and repair duties as needed to support fleet operations.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License with a Clean Driving Record (Required)
• 2+ years of diesel repair experience (fleet, trucking, heavy equipment, etc.) or completion of a diesel tech program
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals in English
• Provide personal tools.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a big plus!
