Intake for PRINCIPAL MOBILE ENGINEER Candidates must currently reside in the Los Angeles, CA area and must not require current or future sponsorship.
* This is a structured hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite. Remote to start until later in the year when it will move to hubrid. Exact location TBD
* Seeking a true Principal-level Mobile Engineer with deep expertise in both iOS and Android development. (can accept iOS as the main skill set with some knowledge in Andriod)
* Candidate must be highly proficient in mobile architecture, design principles, and mobile engineering best practices.
* Strong experience driving mobile strategy, architecture decisions, and engineering standards across teams.
* Will be responsible for leading mobile initiatives and influencing the future direction of the mobile platform.
* Looking for someone who can improve the overall mobile experience through thoughtful design, architecture, scalability, and performance enhancements.
* Experience partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure design principles and user experience standards are consistently implemented.
* AI experience is highly desirable. Team currently leverages Claude and other AI-assisted development tools as part of the software development lifecycle.
* Experience with consumer-facing mobile applications is strongly preferred.
* Fintech, banking, payments, or financial services experience is preferred but not required.
* Role is approximately 50% hands-on coding and 50% technical leadership, architecture, mentorship, and strategic direction.

Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer with deep expertise in iOS development and strong working knowledge of Android , who will drive the design, development, and evolution of AIenabled mobile applications . This role combines hands-on technical leadership , mobile architecture ownership , and mentorship , while partnering closely with Product, Design, Backend, Data, and AI teams.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building secure, scalable, and intuitive mobile experiences , and is excited to apply AI/ML capabilities such as personalization, intelligent automation, and predictive insightsdirectly within mobile products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of native iOS applications , ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability across devices.
• Provide technical direction and code-level leadership for Android development to ensure cross-platform consistency and quality.
• Define and enforce mobile engineering standards , best practices, and reusable components across the mobile ecosystem.
• Implement on-device and cloudbased ML capabilities using modern mobile and backend frameworks.
• Architect and develop native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI , ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and QA to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
• Lead technical initiatives to improve mobile CI/CD pipelines, crash analytics, and performance monitoring.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions using tools like Firebase and Xcode Instruments.
• Mentor junior mobile engineers and promote best practices across iOS and Android development.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate product requirements into scalable mobile solutions.
• Operate in an AI-driven SDLC environment , leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot and Xcode AI integrations
• Implementing and managing Datadog dashboards , Google and Adobe analytics. monitors, and alerts for mobile applications

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of mobile development experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role focused on iOS.
• Expert-level proficiency in Swift , Swift UI , Combine , and UIKit .
• Working knowledge of Kotlin , and Android architecture components.
• Experience with Azure DevOps , Git , Fastlane , and Firebase .
• Familiarity with App Store and Google Play deployment processes, including TestFlight and internal testing tracks.
• Experience operating in cloudconnected mobile architecture (Azure or AWS).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs , OAuth2 , and mobile security best practices .
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG and ARIA and be able to implement inclusive design practices to ensure mobile applications are usable by people of all abilities.
• Experience in implementing and managing Datadog dashboards , Google and Adobe analytics. monitors, and alerts for mobile applications.
• Experience with automated testing , unit testing , TDD , and CI/CD pipelines .
• Development Tools: Xcode, Android Studio, Github , Jira , Confluence , Figma .
• Familiarity with mobile analytics , crash reporting , and user behavior tracking .
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with AI-enhanced workflows.
• Strong Project Organization Skill with budgeting, scope
• Strong Communication Skill

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or consumer-facing mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with operational domains such as mobile payments, identity verification, and push notification systems.
