Tool and Die Maker

Ozaukee Metal Manufacturingcompany looking for TOOL & DIE MAKER! Key duties and responsibilities may include: This candidate performs all machine operations to sharpen, alter, and repair intricately designed and constructed tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, machine attachments, and mechanisms, requiring a high degree of skill and knowledge of tooling practice and application. Works from blueprints, sketches, models, specifications or other drawings to plan sequences for operations and machining, compute dimensions, etc. Preferred Qualifications: Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges using measuring instruments. Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications. Set up and operate equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools. Ability to effectively troubleshoot on deep draw tooling and progressive punch press dies on presses up to 600 tons. Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects. Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products. Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using files, power grinders, or scrapers. Perform test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, when necessary. May assist in the development and designing of new tools and dies, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
