We are a boutique Jacksonville law firm concentrating in estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, taxation, real estate, and business transactions. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented legal assistant or paralegal to join our team. This position is designed for a legal professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys and clients and wants to develop substantial experience in estate planning and administration. Responsibilities include supporting our attorneys with estate planning, probate and trust administration, and related real estate and business matters, while helping keep client matters organized and moving forward.

Responsibilities

·         Assist attorneys with preparing, revising, proofreading, and organizing estate planning documents, correspondence, and other legal documents;

·         Assist with probate and trust administrations, including gathering client and financial information, organizing records, and tracking required documents and deadlines;

·         Support attorneys with real estate and business transactions, including preparing and organizing related documents;

·         Communicate professionally with clients and other professionals regarding routine matters and requests for information;

·         Coordinate appointments, document signings, and follow-up tasks, and maintain accurate client files and calendars; and

·         Handle routine assignments independently, work collaboratively with attorneys and staff, and recognize matters requiring attorney review.

Qualifications

·   Prior legal experience required;

·   Experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration strongly preferred; experience in real estate and business transactions preferred;

·   Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills;

·   Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines;

·   Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues;

·   Flexibility and adaptability as priorities and timelines change;

· Sound judgment and a commitment to handling sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality; and

·   Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and related office software.

·   A college degree is preferred but not required. We value relevant experience, attention to detail, dependability, and a desire to continue learning.

Compensation and Benefits

·         $55,000 – $75,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications;

·         Performance-based bonus opportunity; and

This is a full-time, in-office position in Jacksonville, Florida.
