DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer Job Locations: US-MD Location: 135 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, MD, with up to 1 day per week of telework. Salary: The typical annual salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 USD. Responsibilities Have at least eight (8) years of experience in DevOps development/engineering such as installing and configuring software; managing servers, networks, technology tools; monitoring and maintaining systems for required levels of security, performance, and accreditation; and troubleshooting issues and outages. Have at least eight (8) years of experience in DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK. Have at least eight (8) years of experience in scripting such as Terraform, Ansible. Familiarity with developing DevOps for Microsoft Windows or UNIX/Linux/Centos family of operating systems. Understand technical writing and have familiarity with technical documents in support of a software development project. Efforts will focus on DevOps engineering of a modernization effort to converge NSA's authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools. Deploy applications; install and configure complex software; manage network servers and technology tools; monitor and maintain the system for required levels of performance; and troubleshoot issues and outages. Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly one week out of every 4‑6 weeks). Staff may charge four additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked. Work location is a combination of 135 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, MD and up to 1 day per week of telework as project tasking allows. Qualifications Required technical skills: Linux AWS, MASH, and VMs Docker Swarm Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) Terraform scripting and VM provisioning Ansible scripting and development Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology Git Minimum eight (8) years of DevOps experience Clearance Level: Top Secret. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Allowable substitutions: four (4) years of DevOps experience for a Bachelor's degree; two (2) years for a Master's degree.
