Affordable Housing Property Manager – Minneapolis, MN

Pay: $29–$32/hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Career Strategies is hiring an experienced Affordable Housing Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of an apartment community in Minneapolis, MN. We are looking for a dependable and organized property management professional with experience in affordable housing compliance, leasing, resident relations, and apartment community operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of an affordable housing apartment community
• Manage leasing, occupancy, resident relations, rent collection, and property administration
• Process rental applications, move-ins, move-outs, annual recertifications, and interim certifications
• Maintain accurate resident files, income verifications, and compliance documentation
• Ensure compliance with applicable LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, and affordable housing program requirements
• Monitor vacancies, occupancy rates, and leasing activity
• Respond to resident questions, concerns, and lease-related issues professionally
• Conduct property inspections and coordinate apartment turnovers
• Work with maintenance staff and vendors to address repairs and service requests
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate property records
• Assist with budgets, invoices, expenses, and rent collection tracking
• Follow Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant requirements, and company policies
• Communicate with regional management, ownership, vendors, and housing agencies

Qualifications

• Previous affordable housing property management experience required
• Experience with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, or other affordable housing programs
• Previous experience as a Property Manager, Community Manager, or Assistant Property Manager preferred
• Knowledge of affordable housing compliance, resident eligibility, and certification processes
• Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and property management procedures
• Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Property management software experience preferred
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
