REGISTERED NURSE - Cardiac Prep and Recovery Job Category: RN Requisition Number: REGIS013188 Full-Time On-site Locations Fishersville VA 78 Medical Center Drive Fishersville, VA 22939, USA Responsibilities The Registered Nurse - Cardiac Prep and Recovery plays a vital role in the continuum of cardiac care, ensuring patients are safely and effectively prepared for cardiac procedures and supported through their immediate recovery. The RN works closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in pre‑operative and post‑operative settings. Ensure proper pre‑op preparation including IV placement, assessment, education, lab work, and consent verification. Monitor patients in the recovery phase for complications, cardiac stability, pain management, post‑anesthesia care, and discharge. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols and safety standards. Education Nursing Diploma and/or Associate Degree in Nursing Educational requirements per hospital certifications (e.g., Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine) Advanced nursing education (e.g., Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN], Advanced Practice Nurse [APRN]) preferred Licensure & Certifications Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia Experience At least one year of Progressive Care nursing with cardiac experience. Critical Care and/or Emergency Room nursing preferred.
