Job Description As a Security Officer Distribution Center in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a fast‑paced logistics and distribution location. You will help manage site access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and support security‑related operations through professional communication and customer service. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $17.43 / Hour Job Schedule DayTimeTue11:00 PM - 07:00 AMWed11:00 PM - 07:00 AMThur11:00 PM - 07:00 AMFri11:00 PM - 07:00 AMSat11:00 PM - 07:00 AM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and security‑related policies. Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials as applicable, and maintain accurate access‑related records. Screen inbound and outbound traffic in accordance with site procedures, including documenting vehicle, driver, and delivery information. Respond to access‑control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures. Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report security‑related concerns. Minimum Requirements X‑ray screening experience is preferred. Loss prevention experience is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
