PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Patient Transporter Position located at South Georgia Medical Center Health, 2501 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA 31602. Full‑time and part‑time positions available. Shift schedule: Monday‑Friday 7:00 am–8:00 pm; weekends 7:00 am–5:30 pm. Pay rate $13.00 per hour. Job Summary Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and related items within the hospital. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport patients safely, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other devices. Use wheelchairs and approved rolling stock to perform duties. Transport all age groups with competence. Ensure timely and accurate transport using proper equipment. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians, and dispatch. Maintain patient comfort; offer blankets, maintain modesty, and engage appropriately. Notify nursing staff of patient distress or equipment malfunction immediately. Maintain and report malfunctioning equipment. Comply with regulatory and hospital standards (federal, state, JCAHO). Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality and patient rights policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior home health or assisted living experience preferred. Ability to handle physical demands and safe patient handling. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of hospital safety and regulatory requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
