Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, Assistant Professor -Academic Clinician Location: Philadelphia, PA Open Date: Sep 15, 2026 Deadline: Sep 15, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pulmonary and critical care. Selected candidates will attend on the inpatients medical critical care service as well as provide services in the outpatient ALD clinical. Additionally, nocturnal service coverage may be required. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching pulmonary and critical care fellows, house staff and medical students. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching. Clinical responsibilities may include working with advanced practice providers and/or trainees, may include proficiency in consultation and diagnosis for ongoing treatment of critically ill patients in the ICU unit, rounding on in-patient services for advanced lung disease and participating in a busy out-patient clinical practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and the Michael J.Crescenz VA Medical Center. Preferred candidates would have an interest and experience in education and systems improvement initiatives.
