Dock Staff Job AnnouncementRole Description:This is a part-time, on-site role located in Carolina Beach, NC. The Dock Staff will be responsible for working with other staff members to clean, maintain, and prepare boats for daily use by members. This role also involves assisting members with boarding and departing boats safely, fueling boats up as needed, and monitoring conditions at the docks for safety hazards.DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Greet members in a friendly, upbeat, courteous and professional mannerAssist members in boarding / un-boarding boats with an emphasis on safetyCheck-in and Check-out members using a handheld computer tabletPerform check of equipment on board (Life vests, Anchor, Dock Lines, etc.)Check-in members returning from reservation and finalize fuel paymentFamiliarize yourself with local waters to provide basic chart guidance to membersFuel boats at marina fuel dockClean boats and stage equipment for the next member outingsDeep clean boats as scheduledAssist members with docking boatsWeekend/Holiday shifts required  QUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 18 years of agePhysical ability to lift / carry up to 50lbsPhysical ability to board and un-board boats dozens of times per dayPhysical ability to clean boats regularly using handle mounted brushFrequent kneeling / stooping to clean interior of boat compartmentsAbility to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activityHighly effective communications skills and friendly customer service is a mustMust be a self-motivated and capable of working unsupervisedHigh attention to detailMaintain safe and clean work areaAdhere to all safety policiesMaintain a positive attitude toward the dock and the jobs being performedMust pass a background check and drug screeningPossess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record Compensation: $12.00 per hour plus gratuityThis is a part-time position and compensation is hourly. We are a Drug-Free Workplace requiring negative drug screening prior to offer of employment and all candidates are required to consent to a background screening.North Carolina is an employment-at-will state.
