Description: Local rate within 90 miles. Candidate should be able to work full shifts each week of the contract. Call and float may be required. Six weekends are required to fill staffing needs. The patient population consists of a mix of various disease processes. This is not a disease-specific unit. Daily census averages 25 patients. The unit collaborates with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Special equipment used on the unit includes a cardiac chair, vein finder, Hoyer lift, and alarms. Patient diagnoses vary widely, as the unit takes care of a range of medical/surgical and telemetry patients. Candidates should be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, provide peripheral line care, and administer oxygen. Proper isolation precautions and PPE should be utilized as needed.
