IT Project Manager

Payrate: up to 125/hr. W-2, depending on experience.


We are seeking an IT Project Manager w/ IT Infrastructure and Disaster Recovery (DR) experience to support our client ' onsite ' in downtown Houston.


Must Haves:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing multiple, complex projects
• 5 years' experience executing IT Infrastructure projects, specifically: Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Infrastructure and/or Operational Readiness experience
• Excellent MS Excel skills
• Executive-level reporting, dashboards, metrics, and stakeholder management
• Experience coordinating infrastructure teams (e.g. servers, databases, virtualization, networks, operations)
• Experience managing cross-functional teams
• Strong governance/process development experience (standards, checklists, PMO controls)

Nice To Haves:

• Prefer experience with executing disaster recovery testing

In this role you would help to improve Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness, standardize testing practices, expand automation capabilities, and ensure critical business applications can be recovered in a timely manner during a disruption. Project Manager will assist with the planning, coordination, governance, reporting, and continuous improvement of the Disaster Recovery Program, which includes:

• nnual application recovery testing
• Certification tracking
• Prioritization of critical and SOX-related applications
• Recovery playbook management
• Coordination across application
• Infrastructure, operations, security, architecture, and business teams.

The role will support integrated scheduling, resource planning, risk management, documentation management, status reporting, SharePoint and reporting improvements, and the development of repeatable program processes and standards. The Project Manager will work closely with application owners and technical teams to facilitate successful failover and failback testing activities, support the continued adoption of automation technologies, capture lessons learned, and provide visibility to leadership through dashboards, metrics, and program reporting. The ideal candidate can bring structure, organization, and accountability to a complex enterprise resiliency program while effectively coordinating diverse stakeholders across the organization.


The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, reporting, and overseeing the delivery of software and technology projects while following the established Client's IT project management methodology.


The Project Manager will support these general job functions:


Project Planning & Execution
• Lead technical projects from initiation through implementation, including RFP development, vendor selection, proof of concept, requirements gathering, design, development/configuration, testing, integration, data conversion, user acceptance, go-live, and project close.
• Manage projects across diverse technology domains such as enterprise applications, infrastructure upgrades, data platforms, digital transformation initiatives, and IT support operations.
• Coordinate and oversee the utilization of shared resources across multiple projects, ensuring effective allocation and prioritization requirements are met
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, secure and organize resources, coordinate project activities, monitor budgets, assess dependencies, and manage project issues.
• Monitor project progress and adjust resources and priorities accordingly.
• ssess project dependencies, risks, budget constraints, and resource conflicts to ensure successful implementation, including contingency planning.
• Support continuous improvement of project management methodologies and tools.


IT Leadership & Technical Alignment with the Business
• Ensure all team members are aligned on the business requirements, design documents, and any other technical requirements. This can include current and future process documentation.
• Maintain a strong understanding of both business and technical issues to manage resources and deliverables effectively.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic needs.


Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Build and lead high-performing teams by leveraging individual strengths, technology, and organizational processes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, operations, vendors, and compliance to ensure seamless execution.
• Foster strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, exercising flexibility, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across departments and leadership levels.


Analysis & Communication
• Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing multiple, complex projects.
• Demonstrated success in building and leading project teams using both internal and external resources.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, organizational, and facilitation skills.
• Proficient in both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Azure DevOps (TFS), Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio.
