Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,060–$2,170
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; five shifts per week
• Weekend/Call Coverage: Saturday call coverage in Nuclear Medicine, typically 7:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
• Patient Population: Adults with cardiac diagnoses
• Care Environment: Outpatient cardiac stress testing with approximately 1:1 patient ratios
• Documentation: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Mobility: A personal vehicle is required. Occasional floating to nearby affiliated locations may be needed based on operational requirements.

Cardiac Stress Test RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Oregon or an eligible compact license in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of relevant Registered Nurse experience; cardiac stress testing experience is strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Epic experience is required for this assignment; experience with another electronic health record is also valuable
• Knowledge of exercise stress testing, stress echocardiography, and treadmill protocols, including Bruce, Modified Bruce, Balke, Costill, Ellestad, and Naughton protocols
• Ability to obtain peripheral IV access, acquire 12-lead EKGs, administer emergency medications, and recognize contraindications to cardiac stress testing
• Ability to interpret cardiac monitoring data, identify indications for terminating a procedure, and activate emergency response resources when needed
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year of recent experience are required during compliance
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred

Cardiac Stress Test Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Facilitate exercise, EKG, echocardiographic, and Nuclear Medicine cardiac stress tests for adult outpatients
• Complete pre-procedure assessments, verify patient readiness, and review relevant indications and contraindications
• Continuously monitor patients throughout testing and accurately document vital signs, cardiac rhythm, symptoms, and test responses
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs and establish peripheral IV access as indicated
• Collaborate with Echo and Nuclear Medicine technologists and other stress test nurses to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
• Recognize abnormal findings, respond to changes in patient condition, and terminate testing according to established protocols
• Administer emergency medications and activate rapid response or emergency services when clinically indicated
• Provide clear patient instructions, reassurance, and post-procedure care
• Maintain accurate Epic documentation and support high standards of patient safety and clinical quality
