Physical Therapist

When you join the growing BILH team, you result in tangible improvements in patients’ lives by performing skilled patient evaluations and treatments. You plan, organize, and implement on‑line physical therapy programs based on evaluative findings. Your scope of patient care includes neurological, geriatric, general orthopedic, general acute medical and surgical, sports medicine, and industrial patients across diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups. You may work in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ADMINISTRATIVE Document all appropriate information succinctly and in a timely manner. Track patients’ insurance status for outpatient referrals, authorizations, and inpatient admissions, providing accurate documentation to ensure uninterrupted PT services. Accurately complete insurance certifications and recertifications promptly. Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, non‑physician providers, supervisors, and staff regarding treatment and departmental operations. Adhere to cancellation/participation policy and explain it diplomatically to patients, families, and providers. Consistently meet productivity standards and complete productivity data as requested. PATIENT CARE Demonstrate knowledge and skills for caring for patients across age groups. Perform thorough, objective evaluations for all patients using professionally accepted techniques. Develop functional short‑ and long‑term goals based on findings, realistic timeframes, and an effective treatment plan. Determine realistic treatment frequencies and revise or modify programs as needed. Reevaluate patients per policy and instruct patients and families accordingly. Assess the effectiveness of education, identify needs for modification, and follow through. Administer all evaluations, treatments, and modalities safely in accordance with policies and procedures. Use safe patient‑handling equipment and proper body mechanics at all times. Provide training and supervision for support personnel and establish priorities for patient caseloads. Delegate care components to support personnel and assist the Director of Rehab Services with performance appraisals. Serve as a clinical instructor for PT/PTA students. Report equipment hazards and address problems following hospital policy. Meet or exceed productivity standards for the assigned rotation. Accurately complete time sheets daily, bill treatments and medical supplies promptly. Maintain position‑specific and hospital‑wide competencies, attend in‑service and educational programs, and stay informed of technical and professional changes. Develop new skills and credentials, offer in‑service topic suggestions, attend seminars, and participate in continuing education. Establish yearly goals and discuss progress with supervisors. Identify changes needed in policies, staffing, or equipment and discuss with supervisors. Assist with quality management and performance improvement by collecting peer‑review data and initiating corrective actions. Perform all duties in accordance with safety laws and hospital policies. May perform related duties on an emergency or temporary basis as required. All job functions are subject to change at the discretion of hospital administration. Understand and follow universal precautions for infection control; tasks may expose employees to blood and body fluids. QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of an accredited BS, MS, or DPT program in Physical Therapy. Current licensure by the Division of Registration of Allied Health Professionals in MA or eligibility to practice under a licensed PT per state regulations. Valid CPR certification. PAY RANGE $38.19 – $112,132.80 per hour, with potential for shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other applicable compensation.
