The Critical Care Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-focused care by overseeing the daily operations and staffing of the unit. This role involves monitoring and assessing nursing care delivery in line with established policies and holding staff accountable for achieving quality and clinical outcomes that align with facility goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a strong clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality outcomes while ensuring compliance with care standards.
• Exhibit knowledge of human growth and development, assessment techniques, treatment options, and care for patients across various age groups.
• Manage staffing requirements and personnel functions, including interviewing, hiring, and training new team members.
• Supervise patient care within the unit, providing ongoing support and expertise to staff.
• Perform duties in accordance with unit-specific care standards, as demonstrated by completing a competency skills checklist.
• Ensure optimal workflow by maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Coordinate all unit activities, including safety protocols, unit objectives, and departmental operations.
• Address patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and professionally.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to department staff.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to enhance patient care delivery.

Qualifications Required:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or a nursing diploma is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical leadership experience is necessary.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
