Job Title Pediatric Transport Nurse/UKHC Requisition Number NR14530 Grade Level 11 Position Type Staff Work Location Lexington, KY Salary Range $29.12-45.70 per hour Job Summary Neonatal/pediatric transport is a complex, highly organized, dynamic process that requires highly skilled personnel with the ability to act independently away from the protected environment of KCH. Patient outcomes are optimized by stabilization and expedient disposition of patients to definitive care. This position also provides guidance, education and expertise to nursing staff in any pediatric area so better recognition and response to patient care issues, improved quality of care, and opportunity for development of critical thinking skills can be achieved. The outreach education provided by this position to referral facilities ensures a collegial relationship and enhances outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide patient stabilization and safe transport of neonatal and pediatric patients to definitive care. Deliver guidance and education to nursing staff and referral facilities. Maintain readiness for dynamic transport operations in ambulances and helicopters. Qualifications Required education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) Required experience: 4 years as a registered nurse Required license/registration: Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing Preferred experience: Minimum of three years as a registered nurse in a Neonatal and/or Pediatric Critical Care setting; previous transport experience preferred but not required Skills: assessment, communication, organization Physical Requirements & Shift Maintain body weight less than 215 lbs.
