Job Summary:
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania This specialized Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory registered nurse position involves delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric congenital heart patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. The role requires collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, technologists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Required Qualifications: PA State board approved RN license; BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications; no minimum experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pediatric cardiac catheterization or congenital heart disease; advanced assessment skills; ability to care for critically ill neonates through adolescents.
• Responsibilities: Review patient information including allergies, medications, and consent forms; prepare catheter procedure rooms with medications and equipment; assist physicians during diagnostics, interventions, biopsies, and electrophysiology procedures; maintain sterile technique; operate point-of-care testing equipment and administer contrast; recognize and respond to emergency situations; perform circulating and scrubbing roles; operate hospital-issued scrubs (blue).
• Call Requirement: Call required after 1 week of orientation, 12-15 days including 2 weekends per 6-week cycle; weekday call from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM; weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
• Weekend Requirements: Two weekends of 24-hour call.
• Parking: Offsite hospital parking available for a fee, with shuttle service provided.
• Additional Details: Responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout all phases of the cardiac catheterization procedure, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to support high-quality outcomes.
