Senior Program Manager

Posting Description SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, Office of Innovation and Strategy, serves as the senior administrative and programmatic leader for the MIT-GE Vernova Energy and Climate Alliance, an Institute-wide collaboration advancing research, education, and innovation in energy and climate. Reporting to the Faculty Director, the Senior Program Manager works closely with Office of Innovation and Strategy leadership, participating faculty and staff, and GE Vernova to translate Alliance strategy into coordinated programs, operating plans, and measurable outcomes. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, operations, or project/program management, preferably in a university, research, nonprofit, corporate-partnership, or similarly complex environment; demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs from strategy through execution, assessment, and continuous improvement; strong financial and operational management skills, including experience developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, work plans, and performance measures; demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate contributors across organizational boundaries; excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-management skills; ability to communicate effectively with faculty, senior leaders, corporate partners, staff, students, and other diverse constituencies; exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and events while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail; sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and the ability to operate independently and effectively in situations involving ambiguity or sensitive information; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to synthesize complex information and develop clear recommendations, reports, and presentations; and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and willingness to learn MIT and program-specific systems.This position has a hybrid schedule with an average of 3 days per week on-site.Night and weekend work is required occasionally, as is local and domestic travel.This is an approximately four-year term appointment aligned with the remaining term of the GE Vernova Energy and Climate Alliance, contingent upon continued funding and programmatic need.9/23/2026 Job Number: 26091 Functional Area: Administration Department: Office of Innovation and Strategy School Area: Office of Provost Pay Range Minimum: $104,400 Pay Range Maximum: $140,600 Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid) Employment Category: Exempt Visa Sponsorship Available: No Schedule: Pay Grade: 10
