Paralegal - Litigation Support

Paralegal – Litigation Support Team, Leidos – Los Angeles, CA DOJ office. Location: Los Angeles, CA – U.S. Department of Justice office. Responsibilities Work under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal, Project Supervisor or Direct Report. Perform tasks while complying with established procedures. Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for attorneys in discovery and preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents. Summarize depositions and other transcripts; maintain case files; perform simple legal research; index, track and control document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery). Index, track and exhibit materials at depositions and at trial; prepare exhibit cross-references. Assist attorneys in courtroom and review documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Perform compilation of documents for FOIA, production requests, Congressional inquiries, and other related tasks. Basic Qualifications Paralegal certificate required, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study completed. At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience required. Basic legal knowledge, including standard legal citation and ability to cite legal motions and memorandum. Proficiency with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw for basic research. Familiarity with computer applications including word processing, databases (document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Knowledge of ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures and resources. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment. Trial experience. Experience with Relativity or similar applications. Automated litigation support experience. Current or active clearance. Pay: $24.49 per hour. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements.
