Seamer Rewind Operator

Job Description The Seamer Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of seamer equipment to seam rolls to customer specified dimensions while ensuring that safety, quality and production standards are met. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Education sufficient to read, write and follow work instructions (in English) preferable to a High School Diploma or equivalency. General understanding of Flexographic Printing Process Ability to meet schedules and timelines; handle multiple priorities. Must possess keen attention to detail with visual acuity to sufficiently identify product non-conformances. Establish and maintain cooperative & effective working relationships Positive attitude and teamwork Problem solving skills Essential Functions: Follow and actively support all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines. General Housekeeping & 5S Maintains all housekeeping standards to ensure care and maintenance of equipment and sustains an organized, clean work environment free from debris and hazards. Performs tasks associated with Machine/Job Setup/Run: (Time, Quality, Accuracy) Select and setup correct forming plates to ensure proper layflat is maintained minimizing time & maximizing quality Perform task associated with purging system of seaming solvent and inspecting wick to determine if it needs replacing Performs tasks associated with core placement, tension and oscillation settings (time & adjustments) Performs tasks associated with Edge guide setup and master roll alignment to eliminate incorrect seam position Look for slitter splice tape and flag for removal in rewind Verify seam integrity and layflat on every roll Accurately records production record within the computer database, print and apply labels to each roll Participate and/or Lead Autonomous Management and Continuous Improvement activities as required. Meets/exceeds targeted standards related to establish KPI targets Skill Proficiency Indicators: visual inspection process to correct non-conformities within the roll; accuracy and consistency of defect reporting.
